How to Choose the Right Forklift

A forklift should match the real job site, not just the rated load shown in the catalog. Before choosing a model, check the load weight, pallet size, lifting height, aisle width, floor surface and working time per day. These details decide whether an electric forklift, diesel forklift, reach truck, pallet truck or stacker is the better choice.

01/

Load Capacity

The rated capacity should be higher than the actual load weight, with enough safety margin for daily operation. For standard warehouse pallets, 2 ton, 2.5 ton and 3 ton forklifts are common choices. For steel, stone, building materials, machinery parts or outdoor yard work, a higher-capacity diesel forklift is usually more suitable.

02/

Lifting Height

For truck loading, unloading and low-level stacking, a standard mast may be enough. For warehouse racking, the lift height needs to match the shelf height while keeping a safe clearance. Reach trucks and electric stackers are often used when the warehouse needs higher vertical storage.

03/

Aisle Width

A counterbalance forklift needs more turning space. If the warehouse aisle is narrow, a reach truck, electric stacker or compact electric forklift is usually easier to operate. Please share the clear aisle width before quotation so we can avoid recommending a model that is too large for your space.

04/

Power Type

Electric forklifts are cleaner, quieter and better for indoor work. Diesel forklifts provide stronger power for outdoor yards, rougher ground and heavier materials.

Lead-acid batteries are still used for standard warehouse work. Lithium batteries are better for frequent charging, higher daily usage and operations where downtime needs to be reduced.

05/

Floor and Working Surface

Smooth indoor floors usually work well with solid tires. Outdoor yards, construction sites and rougher surfaces may need pneumatic tires, higher ground clearance and a stronger chassis.

06/

Pallet Size and Load Center

Pallet size and load center also affect the real working capacity of a forklift. A long or uneven load may need longer forks, a larger load center, or a higher-capacity model. Before quotation, please share the pallet size, load shape and whether the goods are evenly stacked. This helps us check the fork length and forklift capacity more accurately.

Main Forklift Types We Supply

3.5 Ton Diesel Forklift

Electric Counterbalance Forklift

Electric counterbalance forklifts are used in warehouses, factories, food storage, logistics centers and indoor loading areas. They are a good choice when you need low noise, clean operation and easier daily maintenance.

Diesel Counterbalance Forklift

Diesel counterbalance forklifts are built for outdoor yards, building materials, manufacturing plants and heavy-duty loading work. They are more suitable when the working area is open, the ground is uneven, or the load is heavier.

Reach Truck

Reach trucks are designed for warehouse racking and narrow aisle storage. They help improve vertical storage space in logistics centers, cold storage, e-commerce warehouses and manufacturing warehouses.

Electric Pallet Truck

Electric pallet trucks are used for short-distance pallet movement, loading areas and warehouse transfer. They are easy to operate in limited spaces and suitable for frequent pallet handling.

Electric Stacker

Electric stackers are used for pallet lifting, medium-height stacking and small warehouse handling where a full-size forklift is not necessary.

Forklift Applications

Warehouse Pallet Handling

Forklifts move pallets between receiving areas, storage zones, production lines and shipping areas. Electric forklifts, pallet trucks and stackers are commonly used for indoor warehouse handling.

Loading and Unloading

Forklifts are used to load and unload trucks, containers and delivery vehicles. The right model depends on pallet weight, fork length, loading frequency and whether the work is done indoors or outdoors.

High Rack Storage

For warehouses with high shelves, reach trucks and electric stackers help improve storage density. Lift height, aisle width and load center should be checked before choosing a model.

Factory Material Transfer

Manufacturing plants use forklifts to move raw materials, finished goods, packaging materials, molds and machinery parts. Electric forklifts fit clean indoor areas, while diesel forklifts are better for heavier or outdoor work.

Outdoor Yard Handling

For steel, wood, stone, construction materials and heavy equipment storage, diesel forklifts provide stronger power and better outdoor performance. Tire type and ground clearance should be confirmed for rougher surfaces.

Logistics and Distribution

Logistics centers and distribution warehouses need forklifts that are stable, easy to maintain and efficient for pallet movement. Reach trucks, pallet trucks and electric forklifts are commonly used in these operations.

Configuration Options

Different jobs need different forklift configurations. We can help match the model and options based on load weight, lifting height, working surface and daily operation needs.

Common options include:

  • Light, medium and heavy-duty load capacity options
  • Standard mast, duplex mast and triplex mast options
  • Lead-acid battery or lithium battery options for electric forklifts
  • Diesel engine options for outdoor and heavy-duty forklifts
  • Solid tires or pneumatic tires based on floor condition
  • Different fork lengths for pallet size and material size
  • Side shifter, fork positioner and other attachment options
  • Cabin, warning light, backup alarm and other safety options

What to Send Before Quotation

To recommend the right forklift, please send the basic working details with your inquiry. Clear information helps us check the model faster and quote the right configuration.

FAQ

How do I choose between an electric forklift and a diesel forklift?

Choose an electric forklift for indoor warehouses, cleaner working areas and lower noise. Choose a diesel forklift for outdoor yards, heavier loads, longer working hours and rougher ground conditions.

What forklift capacity should I choose?

The forklift capacity should be higher than the actual load weight. Pallet size, load center and lifting height also affect the real working capacity. For standard warehouse pallets, 2 ton to 3 ton forklifts are common. For heavier materials, a higher-capacity diesel forklift may be needed.

Which forklift is better for narrow warehouse aisles?

Reach trucks, electric stackers and compact electric forklifts are better for narrow aisles. Please provide the clear aisle width, shelf height and pallet size before choosing a model.

Can the mast height and fork length be customized?

Yes. Mast height and fork length can be matched to your lifting height, pallet size and working environment. Please confirm the maximum shelf height and common material size before ordering.

Are lithium battery forklifts suitable for warehouse use?

Yes. Lithium battery forklifts are suitable for warehouses with frequent operation, shorter charging windows and higher daily usage. They require less battery maintenance than lead-acid forklifts.

Can you support forklift dealers or rental companies?

Yes. We can support dealers, rental companies and equipment buyers with forklift models, spare parts, tires and technical communication. For repeat orders or mixed equipment needs, please send the required models, quantities and destination market.

Can I order different forklift types together?

Yes. Buyers can combine electric forklifts, diesel forklifts, reach trucks, pallet trucks, stackers, forklift parts and tires in one order. We can help check the configuration and shipping plan based on the final product list.

What information should I send for quotation?

Please send load capacity, lifting height, pallet size, aisle width, working surface, indoor or outdoor use, daily working hours, required quantity and destination port.

Do you supply forklift parts and tires?

Yes. We can support forklift replacement parts and industrial tires. This is helpful for dealers, rental companies and buyers who need long-term maintenance support.
